Some game character models come pre-supported and some don't. Do you prefer buying pre-supported files to save time, or do you enjoy setting up your own supports in the slicer for more control over the final print?

I used to grab pre-supported files every time because sanding marks off a failed print feels like losing a small piece of your weekend. But after a few models where the supports fused into the details, I switched to learning the slicer myself. Then I started browsing 3d print project ideas on Gambody, and seeing how their designers set up clean, balanced supports taught me a ton about angles and contact points. Now I lean toward unsupported files so I can adjust density for different filaments or tricky overhangs. Pre-supported saves you a few clicks, but doing your own supports gives you real control when printing at 0.12mm layers or switching to a tougher resin. Both work—it just depends whether you enjoy tinkering or want to press print and walk away.
